Favorite Nashville Summer Memories
Summer in Nashville is just special. So we’re taking a moment at Living True to reminisce on our favorite Nashville summer memory.

Lila’s favorite summer memory in Nashville?
✨ Hands down, our backyard wedding on June 1, 2019. The weather actually cooperated (thank you, Tennessee skies), and all of our favorite people showed up to celebrate. I married the most incredible woman I've ever known, and to top it off, my best friend Brooke officiated the ceremony. It was the perfect day—equal parts love, laughter, and early 2000s bangers echoing down the block well into the night. Pure magic. ✨

Chris’s favorite summer memory in Nashville?
Any summer hikes near or around waterfalls! 🏞️ There are several waterfalls and swimming holes within 90 minutes or so of Nashville. One of my favorite memories is taking our kids when they were younger (maybe around 2019) to Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park. Old Stone Fort is a prehistoric Native American structure and considered the most complex hilltop enclosure found in the South. It’s located on a peninsula formed by the merging of the Duck River and the Little Duck River so the trails meander along water most of the way. We went hiking there with water shoes and swimsuits, wading in water most of the way. With the limestone-rich shelf of the Cumberland Plateau, the Duck River has several spill-overs that were perfect for jumping off into swimming holes. We splashed and laughed for an entire afternoon!
If you like outdoor adventure with some water features, check out Old Stone Fort or one of the many other waterfalls like Burgess Falls, Cummins Falls, Foster Falls or Greeter Falls.
Jennifer’s favorite summer memory in Nashville?
Jennifer’s oldest son taking swim lessons in their backyard pool.
In 2015, we put an in-ground pool in our backyard. Growing up in South Florida, I knew that pools were costly and lots of maintenance, and that is still true. But the memories every summer are priceless. Night swims with our kids, neighbor kids splashing around all day, and baby swim lessons happen all summer long. So my favorite summer memory happens every summer - seeing the pure joy in my kids faces, hearing the laughter and squeals of delight that permeate the air, and enjoying the quiet moments floating in the pool.
